Activision Blizzard pulls plug on Guitar Hero franchise.

Activison Blizzard is sadly stopping the Guitar Hero franchise. The main reason for this is that D.J. Hero 2 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock had terrible sales. The Guitar Hero franchise started back in 2005, put out by the developer RedOctane and distributed by Activison. Activision put out 10 other Guitar Hero’s, 1 Band Hero, and 2 DJ Hero’s. Guitar Hero brought the gaming genre of Music to life. Activison Blizzard said that they are stopping Guitar Hero to be able to put out more of their famous titles, Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. Though Guitar Hero ending after 6 years of rocking out on those plastic guitars is sad news, Harmonix will still be continuing the Rock Band series, which is just as good (opinion). Goodbye Guitar Hero- you will be missed :( .

My opinion: I am very sad to see the Guitar Hero series being discontinued due to it being my favorite video game series. I probably put about 100-200 hours into playing Guitar Hero (yes, I know, no life D:).

  1. I was just gonna post about this. yeah its sad to see it go. In my opinion Guitar Hero was better, but hey, at least we still have Rock Band

  2. it is sad to see guitar hero go but at least we have rockband! Anyway I hope activision and bungie come out with a really awesome game series that is better than Call of Duty I am waiting for news on what they are going to do.

  3. Better than COD? IDK how they’d top that. The sales show that battlefield doesn’t top COD, and that’s just a fact. If activision and bungie want to compete with cod, they can’t make a sci-fi game like halo, because to compete, it has to be in the same league. They would have to make a great war simulation game with a campaign full of great teams, an engaging, rewarding multiplayer, and a special missions or survival mode, plus more. COD is dominating because its easy to pick up and fun to experiment with. With all due respect for Halo and the other competing games, COD will be the king on the market unless something similar tops it. Even COD had to come out of nowhere. Not hating, just stating the facts
