Animal Crossing Wild World (DS)

On the stock market, you can put the turnips you buy on a shelf, and they will last forever without rotting.  This however, was fixed in City Folk.

On a day where there is fireworks, you can get up to 15 roman candles, by talking to tortimer, and then dropping the candle that he gives you. If you speak to him with a candle, he will disregard you.

To get all of the mush furniture, you have to give Tortimer a whopping 230 acorns. Any more, and he will accept it, but it won’t get you anything else.

When getting the Golden Sling shot, DON’T pop the last ballon over the lake. Then you will have to pop 15 more balloons.

To get the Retro Animal Crossing note to listen to at your house, tell K.K. Slider this request:  Forest Life

To get Capn singing request: Year 2000 When you play it, it sounds alot like Capn’s cucumber song from The original Animal Crossing.

If you have a TV, make sure you pay attention when the weather show is on. It’ll tell you, in pictures, how the weather will be the next day. It’ll either show a picture with the sun for a clear day, or clouds with snowflakes for snow, or rain etc.

To make coconut trees grow with a 90% chance of succession, plant at least 2 four leaf clovers next to it.     P.S. This works anywhere on land, not just the beach.

To get HRA points in the thousands, you must have “the necessities of life” This includes, at least one chair, one bed, one sofa, and one drawer from the same series. Getting all the furniture from one series gets you a 30,ooo point bonus.

If you want money everyday, then set the clock to January 1st to get mail from your Mom with 10,000 Bells.

Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum (DS) – Efficient way of getting shiny Pokemon

This is an extremely comlicated method of dramatically increasing your odds of finding a shiny Pokemon in Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum [DS]. It is known as “Chaining” and is very demanding, but also very interesting.

I suggest following the link to http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?t=226939 as it is probably better at explaining the method then I am.

“Chaining” Pokemon is when you are able to make the same Pokemon (at the same level but either gender) appear many times in a row in the wild. It will increase your chances of catching a shiny Pokemon greatly, with the odds increasing progressively over time. However, it’s not  simple, as it requires a lot of time and effort.

Here is what to do:

1) Make sure that you have the Pokeradar in your Key Items section. Also, you will need many max repels. Although they are kinda pricey, I recommend getting as many as you can afford, for you will be using them every step you take. I f you run out of them, your odds of breaking your chain are extremely high. You will also need items that recover your Pokemons’ PP, such as Ether, Elixir, or Leppa Beries. These are vital in ensuring that you can defeat the Pokemon along your chain.

2) Next, select a party of your strongest Pokemon that have powerful, quick moves that are quick-acting and high in PP. Don’t just choose a level-100 Mewtwo because you have it – make sure that its stats and moves are proper for enduring a series of battles with minimum recoveries. Fill your ideal party full, because it is ok to switch Pokemon while chaining.

3) After your party is ready, select a Pokemon found in the wild that you would like to get a shiny of, and figure out on what part of the island it appears. I personally found it quicker just to find a Pokemon at random, as it is easier and quicker, and just as effective.

4) Now here’s where the tough explanations and tricky part come in. Let’s see… where to start? Well, first go to the route you have chosen and go into an ideal clump of grass that covers most, if not all of, the entire screen (a good spot that I randomly chose was at the far left of Route 222). BEFORE you enter the grass, apply a max repel. From this point on, always apply a max repel when the game notes that your current one has worn off. Otherwise, an unwanted wild Pokemon could easily get in the way and ruin the chain.

5) Okay, so I was wrong. HERE is really where the tough part comes in. Use your Pokeradar. Clumps of grass around you will shake. Watch closely which clumps shake. If it is four, than you’re good to go. If it’s three or less, then walk around to charge up your Pokeradar, and use it again. Do this until you get four clumps of grass.

6) As I said above, watch closely at the shaking clumps of grass. There are two different shakes which will be displayed: in one of them the grass just rumbles, and the other rumbles but has a little light come from it. Note that for later.

7) There are certain requirements that will be for every time you watch the grass rumble:

a] Make sure that there are four clumps that shake. Any less requires you to recharge your Pokeradar and use it again.

b] Always go for the clump farthest away from you. It at least four steps away – anything closer is wrong and you will have to reset your Pokeradar.

c] As I said in step six, there are two types of grass shakes. The first time that you use the Pokeradar, follow the guide of which spot to choose, and also make a note of which type of shake it has. From this point on, this is the only type of spot which you should use, stepping on a spot of the other type will brake your chain. *NOTE – the spot on which a shiny Pokemon is will be described later. If you see the spot, step on it! It won’t break your chain and will give you an encounter with a shiny Pokemon*

d] Avoid spots which are next to each other, as they are incorrect (even if they are the right type and far enough away) they will break your chain. Diagonal from each other is fine, just not next to each other.

e] Don’t step in corners or edges of the patch of grass spots, because you could easily get trapped if the clumps appear around you. Be careful not to step out of the patch, as this will apparently go out of the range of the Pokeradar and break your chain!

f] Your bike can’t be used, but I don’t see why you would need it. :P

8 ) Ok, I think that’s all of the conditions for locating the right spot.If there is anything I missed I will update it later. It seems like a lot, but you get used to it pretty quickly, and soon you’ll be able to locate the right spot with ease. Remember, if the conditions don’t satisfy the requirements, avoid the designated clumps , make sure you have max repel in effect, and recharge and reuse you Pokeradar. This won’t break the chain if you do it correctly.

9) Make sure that whenever you enter battle with a wild Pokemon, you don’t run away and it doesn’t escape, for this will ruin everything. That is why it’s a good idea to use a powerful, quick pokemon with powerful, quick moves to attack. It is also ok to capture the pokemon, but this will neither help nor hurt your chain.

10) After the battle, spots will again flash. Using the requirements shown above, locate the right patch or reset your Pokeradar to again find the right spot. keep on finding the right patch and defeating the Pokemon there. You will know your chain is alive if you keep finding the same Pokemon at the same level. If you suddenly get a different Pokemon, your chain has broken and you will have to start the tedious task over again.

11) Apparently, the chain can fail at any time even if you are doing things correctly. This can apparently be decreased in likeliness of happening if you stop to recharge your Pokeradar at intervels. People say that after forty battles is the time when you should definitely do this by, but doing it earlier such as around 10 or 20 isn’t a bad idea. Even so, if your chain suddenly breaks and you don’t think you made any mistakes, don’t be surprised. This shouldn’t happen too much, but it is more likely to happen the further you get in your chaining.

12) With all luck, you should eventually see a shiny patch, which sparkles dramatically twice and has a differnet shade/coloring.

13) If all goes well and you get lucky, then you’ll end up with a shiny Pokemon that you earned on your own. Hopefully it will be worth all of the effort :D

14) Here are a few things to note:

-It is ok to switch Pokemon and use items in between battling the wild pokemon. It’s also okay to save, but there isn’t much reason: turning off your DS will disrupt the chain, no matter when or where you last saved.

-It’s also ok to pause or put your DS into sleep mode while you have an active chain. Just make sure your DS wont lose power, and also keep track of where you were in terms of your chain. The best time to take a break is in the middle of a battle. As long as your DS doesn’t run out of power, you can go days on the same chain… but hopefully it won’t come to that.

- Some people say that if you need to use another repel between battles, you need to reset your radar before your next battle, or your chain will be broken. This didn’t happen to me or the person from the link, so I don’t think it’s really valid. But if you want to be safe, then there’s a tip.

- If you don’t have a master ball to use on the shiny Pokemon, I would recommend bringing a pokemon that can hurt, but not kill, the shiny. Also, moves that will paralyze or make the Pokemon fall asleep are recommended. So don’t just pack your party with all-attack Pokemon and moves, make sure that you have a Pokemon designated for each part of the chaining (defeating, weakening, putting to sleep, etc).

-It really helps to use app #20 on your Poke-device on the bottom screen. It helps to keep track of your current chain, as well as the top three you’ve had recently.

That’s all there is to say about Chaining. Once again, I suggest following the link above or Googling “Pokemon Chaining” if you are at all confused. Good luck with your chaining! It may sound like a lot, but it can get really fun and hard to stop once you know how!

Special ending

If you enter Venom after clearing Area 6 instead of Bolse, then you will begin by fighting the Star Wolf team one final time. After this, instead of having to progress through the level, you immediately take on Andross. After you quickly defeat his first form, he reveals his true form, a brain. By blowing up his eyeballs and shooting him in the back of the head, er, brain, you will defeat him. Fox’s dad will then appear and guide you out of the exploding maze to safety. At the end of the credits, Andross’s face will not appear like it normally would. Congrats! You can now say you got the official ending for Star Fox 64.

  1. Many thanks for all of the time you have put into this site. I have been an serious WoW player since beta release, and have discovered an addon that I now swear by. Not only does this add-on guide you from level 1 all the way to level 85 in the fastest possible route, it includes a talent advisor and in game waypoint arrow that will direct you exactly where you need to go to complete quests and locate rare drops.
I strongly suggest this to all serious WoW fans.
