NEW REVIEWS THIS WEEK:

This is tedizslayer, here to review Crazy Taxi!
Crazy Taxi sure is crazy! (But in a good way of course.) Like so many other games on the Dreamcast, it was originally created as an arcade game, but quickly ported to the Dreamcast. It sparked several sequels spanning across the Dreamcast, GameCube, and PS2, and is also available off of the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Your goal is to drive around, and pick up as many passengers and deliver them to their destinations as you can within the time limit. The San Francisco-themed city you drive around is full of craziness, as you can drive underwater with whales, ram into U-Haul trucks (I bet you don’t have the skills to knock one over upside-down!), and cause passerby to dive out of your way in your mad rush. The game also has a slightly realistic feel to it: its soundtrack is composed purely of songs by The Offspring, and there are appearances of real-life places [including Pizza Hut and KFC] that your passengers often want you to bring them to. In addition to being given an overall time limit, each passenger will have his or her own personal time limit that they want to be to their destination by. The faster you get them there, the more money you make, and if you don’t get them there on time, they’ll get impatient and jump out of your moving car. The goal is to make the most money that you can in the specified time limit. In addition to getting money from passengers, you can also get money by doing stunts live driving off a cliff and landing straight, or stealthily avoiding oncoming traffic. There are also alternate modes in the game such as competitive multiplayer and challenge mode, which both provide a lot of fun. Overall, Crazy Taxi is a carefree game that is sure to be a blast! I give it a well-deserved 8.5. So thanks for reading, and stop back soon for more!

Hello, ruby331 here with a review on Fat Princess.
Fat princess is a very simple, yet somewhat exciting game. You basically play as one of nine classes (giant, gunner, builder, ninja, pirate, warrior, mage, priest, or shadow priest) and try to steal the other team’s princess by breaking into their castle and running away with her. Unfortunately, the online play is terrible with more than one person because all of the players play on one screen, so when someone dies, the other people playing have to run all the way back to the castle to revive them. Not to mention, tedizslayer, Brainloading and I have found that if you play offline (even on the hardest difficulty setting) you can easily have a builder build a trampoline into the opponent’s castle, a warrior steal the princess, and an archer distract the opponents, to win the game in less than a minute every single time. Due to this, the three of us almost had no choice but to play online, thus making the game terrible. To quote BrainLoading, “The DLC really just ruined the game.” Fat Princess scores a solid 5.6/10 on the ruby331 scale because the offline is too easy and the online is a train wreck.

Hey guys it’s BrainLoading here, doing a review of Infamous!
In the game you play as the main character Cole, who was living a normal life until the package he was delivering exploded in his hands. When Cole regains consciousness Empire City has fallen in to chaos. He soon finds that not only did he survive the blast, it gave him the power to wield electricity. Cole then is given the choice to use these powers to save the city or destroy it. This is a karma-based sandbox game that has a different story depending on the decisions you make. Also, depending on which path you choose, you will be able to unlock different abilities. The abilities in this game are awesome and get more powerful as the game progresses. This game has an interesting story but sometimes it seems kind of repetitive. The missions are fun and utilize Cole’s powers very well. The controls in this game are perfect but take some getting used to. This game is definitely unique and has a lot to offer. Not to mention if you play the entire game all the way through it will take you 25+ hours. Also, if you are like me, you will probably want to play through this game twice – once evil and once good, to see both stories. Over all this game gets a 8 out of 10 and is a must-have for any PS3 owner. Thanks for reading and look out for Infamous 2 coming next year.

Hello! ruby331 here with a review of Little Big Planet!
This game is one of the first and quite frankly the best titles to come out on the PS3. There are several different modes that you can play and each one will leave you with endless hours of fun. The story mode is very creative and is best played with four players. Together you can create awesome characters and solve massive puzzles that constantly leave you guessing. There is also a mode that allows you to create stages which can be very fun! Brainloading, tedizslayer and I have tried to create a floating fortress stage, and some racing stages (all failed). You are also able to downlooad maps off of the Playstation Network all of which are very well thought out and created very carefully done. If you are really creative and like to be social with other gamers then this game is an absolute must have! The only thing to watch out for is that some of the puzzles in story mode can be so confusing or hard that you may have to look up an internet guide for them. Little Big Planet scores an 8.2/10 because it’s a really well put together game but can get severly frusterating at times. If you just bought a PS3 I highly suggest you buy this game, it’s a blast!

Hey guys it’s BrainLoading here with a review on Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 (or Storm 2 as I like to call it) is finally here! This is the sequel to Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, a PS3 exclusive. One of the interesting things about this game is that it is the first ever multi-console Naruto game. I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this game and now that it is finally here I’ll share my thoughts on it. To start, this game took the original game and kept what worked and changed what didn’t. One of the biggest changes was the story mode. The new story mode in Storm 2 is excellent. It is RPG style and is very interesting, and the boss battles are stunning. The character roster is giant and the battle mode will please any fighting fan. While any Naruto fan will love the game, the story mode is detailed enough to capture any audience. In the end this game is worth the 60$ and I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. So go out and give it a try!

What’s up? ruby331 here with a review on the PlayStation Home.
PlayStation Home comes with any PS3 and is the definition of social gaming. Basically, you create an avatar and then create a life for him/her. You can choose where your apartment is, what furniture you want in it, and what clothes or accesories you wear. From there, you can hang out at all kinds of places and meet real people online. When chilling in the plaza, you can go see movies (which are usually just game trailers) with friends in the movie theatre, or have a killer time in the bowling alley. The Plaza is not the only place you can go, of course. You can also check out the mall, which has so much to do. There are TV screens everywhere so if something like a movie preview interests you, then you can stop and watch it. Also, when you buy different games you can unlock special areas to visit. For example, BrainLoading just recently bought Mod Nation Racers and can now visit the “Mod Nation Racers Clubhouse.” Playstation Home Scores a 9.5/10 on the ruby331 scale because it is so creative and suprisingly fun.

tedizslayer here, reviewing one of my favorite games on the PS3, Uncharted 2!
Let me just start off saying that there are some points in Uncharted 2 that I felt I was watching an award-winning movie rather than a game. It has beautiful graphics, realistic character movements, and such synchronized sounds that there were a few points that I thought I was watching a cutscene and then suddenly realized that Nate had died because I was supposed to be controlling him. The action starts right away – in the first chapter, Nate Drake finds himself waking up in a train hanging over the side of a cliff. All alone and in the midst of a blizzard, you must guide Nate up the train with some impressive platforming before it falls off and takes him with it. Once you reach the top, you must take down some mysterious enemies, before passing out and having the game switch to a flashback. The next ten or so chapters focus on how you reached that point: you break into a museum, loot an enemy base deep in the jungle, explore ancient tombs, and have some pretty cool chase scenes aboard trains and trucks. But that’s only roughly half of the game. The rest of the story gets, if possible even more intense: you single-handedly take down a tank, explore an ancient mountain cave filled with traps, and even flee from mind-controlled guards over a crumbling bridge. The game is so full of action-packed moments like these that you will never quite know what to expect, but you’ll always be deeply impressed. The story is extremely well done, and the variety of characters fits perfectly: you’ll grow to hate the bad guys, not trust certain traitors, and wonder if the people Nate cares about will even survive. That’s all I’m going to say, but trust me – they could make an award-winning movie based off of Uncharted 2, that’s how good it is. The gameplay is perfect: it’s a great blend of platforming, stealth, shooting, and flat-out running for your life. The controls are easy to get used to, and there’s always a certain satisfaction of being able to jump over a wide pit and cling for life to the edge on the other side. You always have to find clever ways around the obstacles that lay in your path: sometimes you must scale a wall and climb up using a few dislodged bricks in its side, other times you use a zip line to get over to an enemy watchtower’s roof. The voice acting is also spot-on nothing sounds cheesy, and the jokes that come up every so often make you laugh, but they don’t take away from the dramatic intensity of the game. The story is pretty long-lasting, although you can easily get hooked on it and complete it within a few days. There’s plenty of replay value: for one thing, the story is just so awesome that you’ll want to experience it again, and for another, getting all the trophies for this game will prove to be quite a challenge. Overall, Uncharted 2 definitely deserved the Game of the Year awards that it won. It’s a great blend of Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, and a mix of new stuff as well. I give it a 9.5/10. Uncharted 3 is on the way, and I’m sure it will blow us all away, too.
